Blocking or Muting an Account

How blocking and muting help you control your Footly experience.

Blocking and muting are private tools that help you control your Footly experience. They are useful when you want less contact with an account, need stronger boundaries, or want to keep your feed and messages focused.

Mute vs. block

  • Mute is the lighter option. Use it when you want to see less from an account without fully preventing interaction.

  • Block is the stronger option. Use it when you do not want an account contacting you, viewing you where blocking applies, or continuing an interaction.

  • Report is separate from blocking or muting. Use reporting when an account may be breaking Footly rules or making the platform unsafe.

When to mute an account

  • You followed someone but their content no longer fits what you want to see.

  • You want a quieter feed without making a stronger safety choice.

  • You want to reduce distractions while browsing creators, collections, or messages.

  • You do not need support to review the account; you simply want less visibility from it.

When to block an account

  • Someone keeps messaging after you have asked them to stop.

  • A buyer, viewer, or creator is making you uncomfortable.

  • Someone is pressuring you to move payment or content delivery off Footly.

  • An account is harassing you, threatening you, or repeatedly crossing boundaries.

  • You do not want that account interacting with your profile or messages anymore.

How to block or mute

  1. Open the profile or conversation for the account.

  2. Look for the menu, more options button, or safety controls.

  3. Choose Mute or Block.

  4. Confirm the action if Footly asks you to confirm.

  5. If the behavior is abusive, unsafe, or suspicious, contact support or report the account too.

For creators

Creators should use blocking and muting to keep their business healthy, not just as a last resort. If someone is wasting your time, pushing boundaries, demanding free content, or trying to pressure you into off-platform deals, it is okay to end the interaction.

  • Keep good buyers close. Focus your energy on viewers and potential buyers who communicate respectfully.

  • Protect your paid content. Be cautious with anyone asking for previews of paid posts, collections, videos, or PPV messages that go beyond your public teaser.

  • Use buyer discovery thoughtfully. Reach out to potential buyers, but keep messages respectful, specific, and aligned with what you offer.

  • Do not argue with bad-fit viewers. A quick block can save time and keep your account focused on sales.

For buyers and viewers

Buyers can also use blocking or muting to make Footly feel more comfortable. If a creator is not a match for your interests, you can simply unfollow, mute, or block depending on what feels right.

  • Use mute when you just want less of an account in your experience.

  • Use block if you do not want future contact.

  • Contact support if you believe an account is misleading buyers, violating rules, or behaving abusively.

When to contact support

  • Someone is threatening, harassing, or attempting to pressure you.

  • Someone is trying to move payments, tips, or paid content delivery off Footly.

  • Someone is sharing or threatening to share content without permission.

  • A blocked account appears to be using another account to contact you.

  • You are unsure whether something violates Footly rules and want the team to review it.

Blocking and muting are there to give you control. You do not need to keep engaging with an account that makes your Footly experience worse.
